Renewable energy is not just of interest for Developing Countries. In the UK the government, quite rightly, is concerned that we may not be able to meet the energy demands of our own future society. Hence the
call for evidence for delivering secure low carbon electricity. DIYNGO replied with our
White Paper. All evidence will then "inform the 2050 routemap document that we intend to publish in the Spring. This will set out what we see as the pathway from 2020 to 2050" (Iain Morrow, Energy Security Strategy Team, Department of Energy and Climate Change).
On another level, its interesting that we really can use these technologies (ICTs) to access (and hopefully influence) 'governance' (policy makers). This is part of DIYNGO's raison d'etre.
